Queensland Hot Rod Promotions History

Queensland Hot Rod Promotions is a non profit body made up of representatives from ten leading Street Rod, Street Machine and Drag Racing Clubs in Brisbane, South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. In turn, QHRP reimburses a share of gate takings to entrants. The Association is used to promote the sport of Hot Rodding and its associated categories of Street Rods and Street Machines. These special vehicles create tremendous response when displayed in a variety of show settings.

2006 saw the 38th year of promoting and organising the Queensland State Title Shows. The venues have varied from Bowling Alley Car Parks, Major Shopping Centre Car Parks and of course, back to the Exhibition Grounds from the early 1980's. The number of entrants has increased dramatically in the last few years. The standard of entrants seems to improve every year with some of our top cars competing on the National stage.

The Top 10 this year turned out to be a stunning group of modified vehicles capable of mixing it with the best hot rods and street machines in Australia.

Congratulations to all the people who made the show a great success from QHRP, all the clubs involved and especially to the dedicated people who build and show fine machinery and the punters who turned out to see the cars.
